| Health microinsurance has been gaining ground in developing countries for about ten years now. It seems to be characterized by a range of different experiences and mixed results. It is still poorly known because it is new and not yet widespread. How is it defined? Which populations does it affect? How fast is it developing? What are the conditions for its development and possible strategies to increase its impact?
