Call for proposals documents on “Food security in Niger”
On 5 May 2006 Agence Française de Développement launched a call for proposals open to French NGOs on the theme of food security in Niger. This call for proposals builds upon AFD’s commitment to scaling up collaboration with French civil society and marks the implementation of a new type of measure for AFD. French NGOs expressed interest in this call for proposals which also provoked a lot of reaction and some criticism. Go to the document.
Visit to a reforestation project in the Aberdares (Kenya)
Agence Française de Développement organized a visit to the reforestation project in the Aberdares mountain range during the 7th World Social Forum (WSF) in Nairobi. A delegation of French and European members of parliament, elected representatives and political leaders attending the WSF visited the AFD financed project implemented by the NGO Green Belt Movement of Professor Wangari Maathai.
